Rug Cunningham's La Carrera Classic ***Unlisted youtube link
Hey eveybody, just finished uploading the La Carrera Classic Part 1 onto youtube-- Check it out!!
for many of you, you know this is a cult classic video for the BMW enthusiast. In car is a stock 1988 M6, and there is another M6 following, along with an E28 M5 behind it. The gentleman who gave me the dvd copy mentioned he didn't wanted to shared publicly, so it is 'unlisted' on youtube.

Enjoy this part 1, I'll see what I can do about getting the other parts-- it was amazing that I couldn't find it online anywhere. Great video footage and sound of a new s38.
There are some good quotes 'Watch for cows on the road, mile marker 24!'

Hey it's great to see someone post the video.
I've had the DVD for years and just never thought or looked for that matter to see if I could find it.
Quite a story.
Always been doubt if the car was stock?
I do know they had headers on them and IIRC they were not the euro headers we know but some that Cunningham had made???
There used to be a guy on this forum a few years ago that worked at the dealer or new where the car was or something like that. I'll search some for it when I can.
Enjoy..........

I was not asked to share this video publically, but due to the large volume of interest, I have decided to share the Private Link. In this manner, the video will not distributed, and will be passed by word of mouth.
You will not be able to search this video on youtube, but you can watch it with the following link:

Enjoy, and definitely take the time to watch the whole thing in one full sitting!
So many good quotes that it really is a good watch.
If you are having a BMW meet, open this link and you should be able to watch it as a group.

Does anyone know Fahey well enough to ask him what he knows about these cars?
Rig Cunningham died a few years ago.

I'm quite certain that RonP has the car. I met the owner when he dropped it off at Ron's shop a year or so ago for Ron to sell. If I recall correctly Rich worked for Ron Cunningham and drove the Cunningham Race Team semi.M5BB wrote:There used to be a guy on this forum a few years ago that worked at the dealer or new where the car was or something like that. I cannot wait to put my kids to bed. I'm gonna crank this up on the big screen and eat it up...
The little snippets (pantera and flat out) are amazing, too. Those guys had some serious confidence in the cars and some huge huevos, to boot!
I VHS ripped the 1989 video in 2008. I'm not going to bother putting it on Youtube, but someone else can.tschultz wrote:Glad to share, now I just hope somebody can get that Silver State Clasic posted up!
