Okay please don't flame me here but it looks like the bell housing has provisions for a starter on both sides ? What am I seeing or not seeing here ? I am guessing its for left hand/ right hand steering applications.
Yup. The starter lives on the passenger side and can be moved for steering gear clearance.

Aaron,
Get me the exhaust manifolds from your spare motor and George and I will work something out for you for the future.

I admire your engineering skill and the will to blaze a trail.
Are you doing this just to prove that a M70 can fit? It certainly is not due to the lack luster performance of the M70.
Will you use a standalone ECU to run it?

This is the only reason why I haven't done something similar yet. These performance issues can be addressed, though. It was the most powerful motor they had in 1987, and was tuned more for smoothness and gobs of torque than for road burning performance.
Boost will help.
What I'd really like to do is slap a couple of M50 heads on one of these puppies and see what happens (I know that would be very difficult.)
Or maybe do both.

Well my goal was to start in February, which might still happen. But I have to get a gas tank for my blue car which is currently taking up the lift. Then do the B35 swap on my DD. Then I can start the V12 swap. Somewhere in there I have to finish trimming out the inside of the house and paint. All the while work my full time job, and take care of a 3 week old.
I'm really hoping to have a rough form done and be at Vintage though!

Will do. Just started a new website. I plan to document this build and try to put something together for the V8 with the pics I have.

Shit man! I'll bring you that tank if it means getting this V12 business underway sooner!

That sounds ambitions for anyone else, but I know you can pull that off. You have my number if you need a hand.

Just a test fit...LR ex. manifold sitting on steering box. Not sure yet if I can raise the rear of the engine up and still have room for the trans. Not looking like it, but we shall see.

A turbo manifold might rectify that problem.
Either that or it is time for Moosehead to develop a rack conversion.

Shooting for a Vintage appearance. Of course it will be done before then and the C'ville crew gets to see it first!

Let me know if you need a hand- or a large hammer. I've still got that flywheel, too.
