"Original" Black on Black value.

Everything else being equal, what's the extra value added to the B-on-B E28 ///M5?
Would it be best expressed as a percentage or in $,$$$.$$?

For an original Canadian car? Compared to the value placed on overall condition, history and maintenance records, I think interior color is pretty low on the scale for most buyers. So my guess is that if all other variables were factored out, there would be at most only a small premium for an original black/black M5 compared to an identical US-spec black/beige. Maybe 5-10%?

For a modified US car, I'd guess zero change or perhaps a negative depending on the condition of the leather. Black sure looks like crap a lot sooner then beige does if not in perfect condition...

This has been discussed repeatedly over the years.
As a black car owner I think this is something a buyer would have to be searching for. And because of the rarity then yes a black interior car could possibly command a higher price.
If I was selling my car then I would certainly market it as a black interior car and would expect a somewhat higher price because any potential buyer would be seeking that uniqeness.
I have been searching for these cars and so far have found about 12 or so of the 30 including 2 that are for sale right now.

As I jokingly say to everyone who pooh pooh's this "your just jealous because you don't have one".

I do agree that the original rarity of the option adds something to the resale value today - for someone who is looking for that particular option. But that becomes a very personal issue.

Personally, I'm not a fan of leather at all. Condition being equal, the only thing I would pay an upcharge for would be cloth, even if it did cost less when new.

Black on Natur is a very rare colour combo here in Canada.

I share Graham's perspective. Scarcity seems to have an impact on price and 5% seems as good a place as any to start. Building a leather interior is expensive regardless of the color (console, lower dash, door skins/pulls/pockets and the seats). So if someone is in search of a black leather interior they're going to find them scarce and therefore more expensive than the natur.

Many other things have more impact on pricing one of these than the color of the leather though. Original components, wear on the components, quality and standard of maintenance and mileage for example.
