Miles...really, look at that driver's seat all smashed flat. What about that scratch on the driver's fender or the cracked passenger's side of the front bumper rubber? I see flags. A number of red flags. Did I mention the wear to the parking brake handle.

Yes, 2791468 was previously owned by Ian Warburg and is a very good example the E28 M5. This previous owner added the Pioneer KE-83-ZBM BMW Anti-Theft CD ready radio. The mileage is correct and the original window sticker, EPA fuel economy and BMW Limited Warranty documents have survived with it.

If the price wasn't over the top I would check it out since I'm in Nashville now and then. The front bumper looks pushed up also, like it's hit something.

This car made German Cars for Sale Blog this morning. The author estimates current FMV between $18-20K, which I think is actually a bit low for such an original example. The apparent niggles (paint scratches on fender, sprung driver's side thigh bolster, cracked front bumper strip, dirty engine bay) seem to be easy fixes. The quick flip by the seller is, however, a bit of a concern. Always makes you wonder that the actual motivation is for the sale.

It would be great if this nice example went to someone on the board. This car and grbenny's euroized M5 in Canada are the two nicest E28 M5s I've seen for sale recently.

Stoked you read my article! You may be right, it could be worth the $24k buy-it-now... The originality is great, I just thought the questions about the bumper, along with being a 70k mile car, not a 40k miler, might drop it a little bit.

Maybe just wishful thinking on my part as I'm in the market for one right now

Seeing it on Sunday and will hopefully be a more experience-based contributor soon. I'll post pics if it happens.

Good luck in your search for a "real" M5. They're great cars and, if properly maintained through the years, are not the money pits some folks seem to believe. I've owned two - my first had about 150K at the time of sale to Cory here on the board and my current car has about 47K. No mechanical issues of any sort and the 150K car is still on its original timing chain/rail/tensioner, AFAIK.

I'm also glad to hear that the horror stories can be proven wrong. The one I'm looking at has a recent rebuild with just 30k on it, so hopefully that's a good enough starting point from which I can love the hell out of it.

IMHO 21k sounds slightler lower than what I would have guessed (approx 23 to 24.5k)to sell for, but it is ebay and the seller probably has to sell it. Other than what has been disclosed and what I see like all of you, there will be more things found on this car to make it 100% right. There always is....
at least it did not sell for less than it did. I want to see these start to rise money wise like the 88 m3s are....anyone know the buyer?

I came away from looking at the pictures very quickly with a gut feel that this car has significantly more than 68k miles. I went back through them trying to find why I felt that way, and I guess the polished to the steel wear on the clutch pedal shaft along with the broken side bolster perhaps contribute to that gut feeling... Also, the M5 emblem on the trunk doesn't appear to be factory placed, so it might have been wrecked and/or painted in the past. I'd tread real carefully with this one and inspect it thoroughly along with demanding documents/provenance of the claims made about it.
