I know I have been lurking around Tech Talk for to long, asking alot of noobie questions.
Used the search tool, but found nothing on my model and year.
Saw this on Ebay, decided to get a second opinion on this before making up my mind.

I have a 1987 528e, manual.
Is this worth the money?
And if not, what chip should I keep my eye out for?
-Thanks
Performance Chip questions.
Re: Performance Chip questions.
This question often comes up here, and the answer is always the same. The eta motor responds really well to a chip, but the ebay ones are stolen intellectual property, i.e. someone has copied the code from a "real" chip. You never know the parameters of the ebay chip, and it's like buying a stolen TV, IMO.Tnt47 wrote:I know I have been lurking around Tech Talk for to long, asking alot of noobie questions.

You are better off buying a used EAT chip, Conforti chip or Dinan chip here or on ebay for your car. It is money well spent.
