Motor breaking up, any thoughts?
Basicaly when ever I try to put any load on the motor it just dosent want anything to do with it, it breaks up and won't take any gas but it will idle fine if you let off it, I changed the fuel filter, air filter, and distributer cap. The car was run without an o2 sencor for a little while but didn't have any problem without it. It's been getting alot colder though so I don't know if that has anything to do with it acting up, I have a new o2 sencor on order because it needs one Anyway, the old one is i'n there now but I'm not sure if it's still good. It's becoming undrivable at this point. Any thought at all will be helpful at this point. I've run out of things I think it could be. No tear in the intake boot and the MAF and throttle position sencor are in workin order as well. Basicaly what I'm saying here is HELP!!!!

If it's not the fuel pressure what else could it be? Trying to get a good list of options so I don't have to keep running back to
it and could check everything at once. Also it dosent sound like a fuel problem but it is possible. Sounds more like a mixture problem or an air problem but I'll take the advice and check, thanks

hahaha agreed.wkohler wrote:Your signature is ridiculous.
I also think it sounds fuel related, but cover all your bases...
when the car is idling fine, check the wires/cap and rotor, spray the wires all individually with a bit or water BEFORE you spray the coil wire, watch for arcing/listen for any changes in the idle.

Running without an o2 sensor can cause your car to run rich. If you keep running it rich for long periods of time it can plug your catalytic converter, which would keep your car from revving freely. It's not all that common on these cars, but it happens. Check fuel pressure first. Also, there was a guy a couple days ago who had very similar symptoms resolved by replacing the coolant temperature sensor. You should get a Bentley (or search) to find the specs and test procedure.

Dude...I can barely understand what you're writing. There are only a handful of Grammar Zealots here, but we all appreciate it when people at least make an effort...
I think you're asking if a cat could be plugged in only a month or two(?)
The answer is probably not. If you got a really shitty after market cat maybe, but I've never seen one plugged that fast.

The problem ended up being a bad o2 sencor, 58$ from my local parts store. Car runs better then ever. I put two and two togeather in my head and determined that the reason it ran fine once I changed the exhaust and didn't run the sencor for a while is because the computer didn't see any change even thought the sencor wasn't there but sence it started to get colder the air fuel needed to be changed and the computer didn't know that so it was still doing what it thought it was saposed to because the sencor wasn't there. I feel kinda stupid to be honest

While youth has its privileges, having no firm grasp on spelling or grammar has no excuse. If you want to be taken seriously around here, (or be helped by genuinely helpful people on this forum) it'd be in your best interest to drop the shorthand whenever possible. As for your sig pic, you might want to rescale it to a more digestible size. (I realize that my pic isn't much smaller so this is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black)
