533i not starting HELP!!!

Drove my 1983 533i today to the store. After gettig back in it won't start up. It cranks but seems that its not getting gas???

Checked the "fuel" fuse , cleaned it p and put it back in, still no start.

Can anyone help me with a list of things to check? relays, fuel pump etc...

Try replacing either your Main Relay or the Fuel Pump Relay. They die for no reason and no warning. I carry a spare with me where ever I go.

You should also check the Fuel Pressure Reg (FPR). make sure its holding the pressure. Use a plier to clamp the hose after the FPR, and have someone start the car.

Okay lets keep this simple
Their are 3 things an engine needs to run:
1 fuel
2 Compression
3 spark
Check spark first its the easiest if you dont have spark check the 2 connectors at the back of the intake on the brace that runs from the intake to the valve cover. These are you crank sensor connectors and they have a tendency to crack and lose connection

Yes the relays are interchangable. It should be BMW's generic 4 prong relay that drives the fuel pump. The main relay should be a 5 prong deal.
