if the engine dies with the key on, there should be a sea of red lights on the dashboard. If it is like turning off the key, there wont be lights.

Which one is it?

Give enough details of the problem and the solution will be easy to find

Check all fuses, especially the fuel pump fuse at the upper left corner if you are looking directly at the fuse box from above. You might want to purchase all new fuses and replace them all as a preventative maintenance procedure. Also, check the metal clips holding each fuse in place. Sometimes, they get slightly bent out of shape. The slight shaking of the car when operating might be enough to knock the fuse out of position and cause the electrical problem you mention.

Hope this helps!
