Geez guys, it's not rocket science. You need to do a little more than just bolt in another ECU. For all you know there could be another issue that will fry anything else you plug in. You really need to get crackin' with a multimeter and start actually
diagnosing the problem.

Last night I checked two M1.3 cars(my 535 and my friend's e30) and neither one had pin 17 of the diag connector populated. Are you SURE you read the pin numbers correctly as they can be rather deceiving.

"It's grunt police work that's gonna bring this one in, boys."
Jumping electronics is like carpentry: measure twice, cut once. Except this one is "check pins twice, jump once."

Nah, carpentry is "measure once, cut like 8 times, then use glue"

Almost epic.
Actually, I can almost imagine the panic these guys were in. I've been there a few times; when panic sets in, rational thought goes out.

Good, cuz nest time he does this he WILL fry something IMPORTANT or catch the car on FIRE.

I like to use live .22 shells for fuses. They work great!

I've hardwired one before when my cigar lighter fuse died on my way to work, my boss saw me under the hood and commented on the wire: "I like the 300 amp fuse! You must have some quality wiring in that old car."
