Looks good. Too bad that valve cover is there instead of on my car.

Ron-

Good job so far. I'm going to be in Lagnua on the 26th, coming from my sister's in La.
Any chance of stopping by and taking a peak?

It's brown. It has subtle stripes. I doubt it will ever be unnoticeable. The thing is a 80's super-sedan monster. I just want to hear it!

Phil has been busy putting the motor together. Here is a shot of the progress today. My battery finally died on my camera and I forgot to tell Phil that I charged it this morning, so here is your last cell phone pic! Not too bad either!

Hate to break this to you, but someone put the motor together upside down. Now you have to put an oil pump in the head.

Today's update: Phil has most of the motor together now. This weekend, we are going to try to get the interior in and then next week, all of the front suspension will come out to be freshened and painted. Stay tuned!

We are getting close to our deadline, and have been bustin' some butt to get it all done. The car is entered in the BMWCCA Concours August 14th. Not a whole lotta time!!! Here are some updated pics: The motor is ready to go in, I just need to finish painting the engine compartment on the driver's side (tomorrow). The springs and sway bars just got back from the powdercoater and the suspension will go on this week and then the motor.

Painted the seat rails today

The engine compartment came out nice

Wow. I can't look at this anymore. It's making me sick. Yet, at the same time, I can't turn away.

I just noticed the allen head hardware on the engine. That's a great touch! Any benefit other than looking clean?

Is that front subframe powdercoated, POR-15, Eastwood Chassis Black, or what?

I like the body colored inner fenders. Are they typically body color or black?

Allen head hardware were Phil's choice and purely cosmetic. I like it!

I just used high gloss black paint on the subframe

Body colored inner fenders are standard on all e28s. I powerwash them, and use factory color paint on them. I also paint and clearcoat the inner fender splashes as well.

Man you have a great eye!!! :D

+1 This thread almost makes me want to double my efforts to win lotto so I can retire early and do what's really important instead. If I add anymore I'm just gonna start gushing, and that would be unseemly, so I'll just say... well done and I wish I could do the same.

13 days from today for Carmel, Ron, but you might want to leave it at home, I'm bringing my Bimmerfest '09 winning E34(well,second place to an 850csi), sorry Brotha!

J/K OBVIOUSLY, I can't wait to see this beauty in person!

BUT I will park my car down the fairway from ya, just to give you/your car a chance.

Are you coming up Thursday night, or are you driving thru the night for Friday mornings check in?
Watch for a small caravan of my Black E34, Greg's E34 M5 Touring, a Red E30 M3, an '07 328i, a Imola Red M3 'vert and a Grey E39 M5. (for now at least)

As of today, there are 135 cars registered.

It's going to be a great day, looking forward to seeing you again, but with a different car than at Bimmerfest. :alright:

Looking awesome. Very interesting, the part about all early Hartge's being gold.

Let me know when you want me to come in for some help with the headlamp cleaning system
