FS. euro converted 533i. boston, ma

Post by HMS_Tim »

You guys have seen this car before.
1983 bmw 533i. Runs great, drives fantastic, looks good and is up for sale. I really like this car, but I need to get a tow vehicle and this car is not that. There are many new parts that have been replaced since I've owned it. I probably spent over $1500 on parts alone and a there's huge list of parts installed previous to my ownership. Such as tranny, diff, recaro seats, electronics, etc. It's only seen two winters it's entire life, so it's a solid chassis. It's been converted to a euro model with the headlights, bumpers, body trim, gauge cluster and high compression engine. There's two sets of wheels and tires that go with it.

The list.

Done before I got it

Euro m30 b34 10 to 1 comp block, 533 intake and wiring.

Euro bumpers, headlights, and valance

13 button computer.

Reman tranny a few years ago.

H&R springs.

Bilstein shocks and sway bars

Alpina style recaro seats

Upgraded stereo with amps

Ported exhaust manifold

E28 m5 wheels and extra 14 bottle caps

Uuc short shift kit and knob

Stainless brake lines

rotors and brake pads

4.10 limited slip diff

Many other misc parts. I have the 2” thick folder with receipts of pretty much everything the previous owner ever purchased.

Since I’ve had it.

Alternator

Idle control valve

Plugs

Wires

Cap

Rotor

Fuel filter as well as any other filters needed at those intervals

Rubber Fuel lines to motor and around pump/filter

misc temp sensors on the motor

throttle position sensor

Clutch

O2 sensor

Battery

Floor mats

Front lower control arms with upgraded 7 series bushings

Front sway bar links

Front spherical strut bushings

Rear shock mounts

I have two new crank sensors coming that should be here next week.

The paint does look funny. I want to redo the whole exterior one matching color. I was going to dive into it this spring, but I need a tow vehicle now to pull my race e30. Body issues are no rot that I’ve seen anywhere on the car. Surface rust is on a couple of spots, but it is not heavy at all. The rear seats have some cracks in them. The dash does as well.

The only things that don’t work on the car

The trunk lock wont work with the key. (it still locks, unlocks with the central locks and pops open manually)

The washer fluid light is on in the car. (washer and wipers work fine) Everything else electrical on the car is operational and proper.

Mechanically and structurally this car is very sound as all the weakest points have been welded and braced for strength by the previous owner.

The car was in California for a long time. When it was in New Hampshire it was a summer car only until last year. So it has only really seen two short winters in it’s life. Which explains the good condition of the body metal.

I do really like this car… If you can look past the fact that all this car really needs is paint, an upholstery job and a dash you’ll see why It’s worth what I’m asking.
