Well, I received an email this morning from the gentlemen at Memphis Motorwerks and it looks like the engine is complete. The headers came back from Jet-Hot and were installed. The engine should be going in any day after a few more minor items are completed. The axles have been rebuilt and now we are waiting on the brakes to be completed and the wheels to come back from powder coating. Enjoy the pictures:
I decided to go with the VSR1 exhaust center section and it is made for the U.S. spec headers. So, maybe in the future if they make one for the Euro headers I will try to find a Euro header for the car. I don't plan on racing the car so, I am hoping that the U.S. headers will work fine. I am not sure how fast it will be...but, I am sure it will get me from point A to point B in due time.
This looks like the S38 timing chain tensioner. Did you research using the S50 tensioner? If not, you might want to look into it, or talk it over with your engine builder.
I just finished my engine and i didn't like the way the chain sounded and found that the diaphram in the stock chain tensioner was shot. That part alone was $145 and i got an S50 tensioner complete for $105.
Engine sure does sound better.
