Hard Rock Park

Post by underwatervans »

So the new Hard Rock Park opened in June and I was recently visiting my house in Myrtle and decided to try it out. 140 bucks later I left disappointed and sun burnt. The food was over priced 30 bucks for a drink and two tacos, it was 39 bucks a person and that was with the local discount, and they hit you with parking cost as well. The best ride there was the Zeplin and you had to go through a video each time you rode it about the band, after the first time it was long boring and useless. Overall it was a big waste.
Still it was something to fill the time but not what I was expecting at all.

Oh, hell. Here I thought it was a thread about the 'condo-ization' of Lime Rock ... :dunno:

Wow...talk about capitalization on a theme / franchise. In the early 1980s, I remember when there were only a few Hard Rock Cafes scattered around the globe (London, NYC, etc.). Sporting a t-shirts, button, or other swag from those joints meant you were somehow cool or connected. Somewhere along the way, something changed... ;)

The original in London is still good despite the merchandising. The "cellar" has some top memorabilia - we got to sit on Jimi's couch and strum one of his guitars (original strings). Now you don't get that at McDs.
