Buying some new wheels ....

Since im fairly new to this forum and dont really know as much as you guys do ,
I thought i´d ask you what wheel size would be the best , i mean what would give ju the perfomance you want
and still not being to big and make the steering hard ??.
i was looking to buy a new pair of rims as soon as the wallet allows it.
I love the look of these !!:D:D



what do you guys think ?
would they fit??
if they do, should i go the 16 or the 17 inch wheels??

Would love some suggestions on good looking wheels !

ive been thinking around 800usd for the set of 4 wheels.
what do you think i can get in that price range ?
of course im thinking of getting second hand wheels !

I think 16s would be best (weight/performance), 17s look damn good and will be a lot easier to find versus the 16s. 17 in style 32s were standard on sport package equipped E39 540is until about 2002. Either way you will need hubcentric rings to make them fit properly.

Get the 17"x8" wheels. Put 225 45 17 tyres on them and get hubcentric rings.

Note that all the talk of "hubcentric rings" only applies to E39 wheels.

I have the Style 32s on my car, and they are my favorite...in the 17" size they really fill up the wheel well nicely, and on a purely aesthetic note, that looks great.

They were available in 16" size but are rare as hens teeth it would appear.

For $800 you should be able to get a pretty nice set with a decent set of tires to boot.

If you are concerned with functionality and performance a 16 X 7 - 7.5" ET 20 with a 225/50 (OE fitment on the '88 M5) all season performance tire is as much as you will ever need on the street. With that you will need to trim and or roll the left rear fender opening for clearance.

If you are more concerned with apperance and style I have no recommendations.
