Where do I buy a 524td

Post by CM85'535i »

Does anyone know a good source for these cars? Anyone selling? I have a 535i which is finally "finished". So I am ready to expand.

I already talked to that guy. The car does not run. It also is a fake auction - i.e., no one is supposed to bid, so no one knows if the offers to beat are real.
Thanks for the reply, though.

My '86 TD with 186k miles will be for sale once I get the in tank fuel pump issue resolved. I have just done a ton of maintenence. Timing belt, water pump and tensioner with OEM parts. Axis brake pads and E-bay rotors. Complete front end rebuild with Steve Haygood parts. Kyb shocks with new mounts front and rear. I also just had the injector pump resealed as it was leaking. All within the last 20k miles. I have records back to '86 as well. Delphin Gray with pearl beige cloth interior. Car has averaged right around 30 mpg over the year and 20k miles I have owned it. I am only selling because my commute will go from 50 miles daily to 190 miles. And I need a VW Tdi that gets 50mpg.

Thanks,
Jay

sounds great...

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the reply. It sounds great. Definitely let me know when you're ready to sell it.

Also, don't worry too much about resolving all the issues. I'm near Philidelphia (about three hours from Baltimore). So as long as it can make it back to my house, I'll be happy. In the event that you don't feel like replacing the fuel tank (or whatever ends up solving it), I'd still be interested. I'm in school right now for automotive training, and these 524td's have alot of appeal to me as a project. I'm hoping I can eventually start using the td as a daily driver to replace my 535i (gas burner).

Anyway, it would be awesome if you end up selling it. Please, give me a call or email as soon as you decide.

thanks very much,
Chris Meade
