they say that for an e30 to have a truely effective spoiler while going high speeds (i dont know what that speed is), it would have to have a spoiler slightly lower than the roof line. That would be one big ass spoiler.

Ideally, any spoiler on a sedan-type race car would be behind the rear bumper and above the roof line. Most organizations limit height to the roof line, width, and distance behind car for this reason.

Yup, it's not hard to think about though. How effective would a wing be if it isn't getting any wind? Imagine how much downforce you'd get from a wing mounted on top of a semi trailer compared to behind it. Mounting up and behind a car just gets the wing in the "clean" air.

yes, yes, a tragedy, what the heck is the "M3-m1" thing anyway, youre right, the honda/mercedes/bmw is very very bad, the hood cant match up at all, and who would want to even drive such a thing? let alone get the idea... people...

ive seen top-of-the-rear window- mounted spoilers, like lip spoilers, not this rice crap, are those effective?

That silver e36 just has the tall version of the LTW wing. Not exactly rice.

Nah dude, half pipes usually have mellower transitions than the wing, and they're a lot wider.

Though that would be cool. Just pop the wing off, flip it over on the ground, and start skating on it.
