I am surprised to read that customers in this category would consider a piggy back.

Um, Im not that put out by it. Its the "easy and fast" way to get the job done. The FI ECUs in these cars are very complex and encrypted from what I here.
Also, to me, its just another CPU in a car that has about 15 or so. Gee, whats another one. But, if BMW makes enough vehicles with the N54, there'll be real flash upgrades just like the Audi, Suby and Evo stuff.

I see this for the 335i forum future - "BMW voids my warranty........WTF!" These cars will fall into the Sport compact world of morons tuning the car while it is still in warranty and then getting the ass when the manufacture voids the cars warranty due to the mods blowing up the engine. Mark my words, we will see it soon.
Duke, I don't put BMW on such a high pedistal. Umm, there are "customers" doing the same thing(warranty void'ing) with $100k Mercedes, $75k Audis, Jaguars, $40k diesel trucks ect and now BMW. Customers know the risks, but your right, thell scream if happens to them anyway. I think its silly really.
