Hi all, i wonder if someone with experiance can help, i have a 2.4td crank ready to go into an M20 block and with a 325i head gives me a 2.7 no doubt along with the 11:1 pistons from an early eta.. ok........ along with the 2.4TD crankshaft and conrods i was given the manifold with the turbo on it!
THE QUESTION :
Is it possible to bolt the turbo manifold on to the 325i head with same pistons that im using from the eta without getting any problems like blowing the head gasket e.t.c. and also the conrods on the 2,4td crank is it the same length as the eta?? as i was told they are forged crank and conrods.. also what is the largest turbo i can fit before the pistons have to be changed to a lower compression...
If some one can kindly shed a light on this subject i will be very appreciated...... If there any pics on the net or any links you may have come across on the conversion and what it looks like that will be great to see...

There is no way I would run that manifold and turbo on a 11:1 Compression M20, unless of course, I diliberatly want to see the hood blow open and see fireworks.
First of all , Turbo engines should be built with around 8:1 compression.
The 524td manifold and turbo is very restrictive for a gas engine. you will actually loose a lot of top end power. Maybe you could get away with using that set up for low boost , on a stock engine. But on your engine should be left Naturally aspirated.
