Has anyone tried any of the aftermarket pumps on eBay? Prices range from $55-$75 vs. OEM for ±$250.
Just not sure if I'm setting myself up for a replacement in the near future.
I'm specifically referring to the in tank pickup pump.

Aftermarket fuel pump?
Re: Aftermarket fuel pump?
Take your existing pump and replace it with a lift pump for a Volvo 240. Buy the sock for that as well. Just need to make a ground wire to replace the strap for the original and likely desolder and replace the entire positive wire depending on condition. Use the original coupler and then make sure its secured to the return tube and you're good to go. The aftermarket hangers leak at the top where the sending unit seal goes.

Well all the modifications sound a bit over my head but thanks for the note about the potential for leak where the sending unit goes.

Or do the single high pressure in-tank swap.

This is the way.
I used a Walbro 255. With new connectors, a new fuel filter, and new tank-to-fuel filter hoses, you should be able to get this one in 1.5 hours for under $200.
I ran a temporary universal fuel pump from Amazon for a couple of weeks while waiting for the Walbro to come in the mail. It worked... $25. I do not recommend. Although I did keep it as a backup.

If you're looking to stay stock, the PO of my car bought and installed a no name brand from RockAuto. I can't recall what the name was off hand (He left the old pump in the new pump box and gave it to me with the car as that didn't solve his problem). I've put about 5,000 miles on the car since then. No issues.
