Hey guys anyone know of an e28 mechanic that can fix a few items for me including odometer for an 88 535.
Would prefer taking to someone with good labor rate that can also help diagnose blower motor not working and to give the car a once over. I would really like someone who knows e28s and not just a European/Generic German Indy shop.
I’m happy to use one of the board members that lives in the Ny/NJ/Connecticut area if they are adept at fixing these kind of issues.

I just replaced the gears in my odometer, it's not really very difficult if you're inclined to DIY. You can get the gears from https://www.odometergears.com, there's a post about how to do it with instructions in the FAQ section. viewtopic.php?t=26424
The blower motors on these cars are known to fail as the bearings gradually seize up. Did it squeal for a while before it quit? they can sometimes be temporarily revived with lubrication, but it usually doesn't last long and the only real choice is to replace it.

good labor rate? for a brand that commands about 120 in the midwest for dealer work and more in the NE? What do you consider a reasonable labor rate?
There are two blowers in the car, one for a/c one for heater. Heater blower if you have the correct one to install, Behr or Sofica is an easy enough swap. The a/c one in the dash, I got no idea.
The swapping of the odometer gears has been addressed and is fairly easy with the recommendation to know exactly where and how the blue connectors on the back of the speedometer come off so you can put them back exactly the same. They fit in opposite of what one would expect. One controls the speed info to the OBC and cruise. Some cars have only the one.
