After almost ten years, finally found a white fender

The hood needs realigned now that the fender is no longer intruding into it's space, I'll do that next weekend...and ignore the rust on the windshield frame lower-corner :oops: it's being dealt with this summer and hasn't translated into deeper structural rust...all the rain this winter took what was a small rust bubble in November to a full-blown hole in February. The two driver's side doors are being replaced with rust-free examples over the next few weekends. The good news is that underneath, in spite of some typical Pacific-North-West top-down surface rust, everything us super-solid and rust/corrosion-free:

Since I was already working on it, I took opportunity to install and fix a few additional things: better seat switches, new fuse box cover, got the central locking working, and the rear-passenger window works again too. Overall it was a good day for my beat-up 528e.

I also recently installed one of Alpina's knob reissued shift knobs, which is beautiful:
