What's wrong with your stock airbox?

I don't know what it's called but the hole in the airbox is detached from the panel.. so there is a big gap? Plus I want a cone filter.

There's a piece of foam that bridges that gap. Still available new, though a while back a member found a longer-lasting solution. The stock airbox is far superior to a cone filter. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be in demand or short supply for those who have ended up with a car where a PO "wanted a cone filter."

First dont even question Kholer giving you advice. Take it and move on! Cold air intakes 99% give you a horsepower loss over the stock airbox. There are plenty of videos on youtube explaining this. A "cold air intake" has seen improvements when put in front of a fan and no where near the motor for dyno testing, not a set up you could ever realisticaly run. These gains were only 1 or 2 more horsepower for such extreme measurements.

Yes. I'm sure several people will gladly trade you their cone filter setup for your factory S38 airbox.

To reiteriate the above, it took me about a year of searching and 150 bucks to get the car back to stock airbox, because someone before me wanted a cone filter. Same on my old M60.

P.S. OP i know you got the point from the previous posts, this is more for future reference.
