Wanted: OEM Round Leather Shift Knob
Wanted: OEM Round Leather Shift Knob
Looking for a new or lightly used push on round/mushroom shaped leather shift knob for my M535i. Anybody have one?
yeah, i saw the picture and it looked like plastic, but the OP mentioned something like "leather in good condition" , since i m not a specialist, just took his words for granted. good luckirl-mn wrote:The part I see for sale there appears to be the plastic version (no evidence of stitching in the appropriate locations). Thanks for the tip though.

I have one, in leather and good condition. I'll send you a few pictures.

Thanks to all who replied, but I figured out a solution.

What is the solution? Very interested.

I'm going with an Alpina steering wheel and shift knob.
The round push on knob seems to be rare enough that it's probably worth recovering with new leather. It will stay with the car.

Hi, Looked in the boxes of shift knobs and have the round one but with a small area with no leather. Maybe could be recovered? The inside appears to be wood. Other than that it's in good condition.

One other option (if your feeling brave) would be to thread the 'push on' style shift lever for the M14 thread used on early cars. Then you could use the screw on leather knob circa 2002's
