FS: 1988 535is Lachsilber on black

Post by E34M50 »

Hi folks. Just a feeler as I now have too many cars and felt that I need to reduce inventory. 1988 535is, 5 speed, 24x,xxx (not accurate since odo broke), clean title, new paint (original color got faded out), zero accident, a/c works, Lowered on cut spax but I do have original springs and E38 style 5s, interior is clean (no rips, just a small crack on dash). It has a Dinan chip but otherwise completely stock.

Bought this car from the original owner which I've known for 21 years or so. Car runs perfect. Please let me know if you are interested. [email protected] or text at 310-384-0567. Sorry but will add more detailed photo asap.

Thanks,
Jose

Cool, hopefully you'll take a few moments an add info or at least a butt-ton of pictures to allow proper "feeler" offers. At this rate, you'll likely hear the classic $500 takers...or less.

If the rest of the car looks as nice as the paint does, it's worth a bit more than $500.

What's up with the hood line?

More info and pics coming up. Consider this as a sneak peek. Hood lines? Must be the angle. It looks fine and normal in person. Stay tuned!

After seeing this prime example in lachsilber, I know what my car can look like.
The car represented in this ad is stunning. Its what I dream mine will look like some day.
Cars in this condition are rare. Someone needs to snatch this thing up.

When it comes down to it, you're the right owner for the car. I'm glad you're keeping it.

And yes, healthy lachssilber is a really beautiful color.

agreed, it's beautiful. hopefully this one finds a good home.

gg: to prevent further hijacking of this thread can you post a new one when you get on track to get your turbo repaired? i'd be interested in the power difference from someone who's been through all of the hoops.

This is mine (sorry for the uber close-up and messy resolution, but it was cropped from a much larger image).
It's from the 2012 SoCal Vintage BMW Meet, in honor of the 5th year of the event.

Thabks everyone for the nice words. Car is sitting in the garage lately and I just picked up a Land Cruiser for offroad fun. I know it will be regretful to sell it but hey, it's just a car. I will post more info asap. I have been under the weather and basically been dead for the past 2 days. Sorry for not being responsive. For those local guys, just give me a buzz/text so we can set up an meeting time. I will leave the car as is (no extra cleaning or engine wash) so you get to see the "actual" car. I'll post photos of the interior soon.

As far as price, I will post it once I post more info on here to be fair. By the way, the odometer stopped working and I replace it with a spare one that my friend had and that too was not working so I left it alone.

Price is reasonably negotiable. I do not have to sell this car in a rush.

$6500 obo.
