getting ready to race

Post by bbaxter »

The 2014 racing season is about to start. Will be starting the new season at VIR on Mar 29th than Daytona on May 29th. Really excited to compete again this year in Chump racing.

Why am I not involved in this? I've got a 12a car I could drive to the races, simple swap if it goes pop.

I 'm not racing an e28. I'm racing a Saab.

Remind me, are you with Tired Iron or rbank?

I was at Road Atlanta but we didn't start; car owner balled it up in Friday practice.

No. I don't know any of those guys. The car's owner is Glenn Bunch. A friend here in Gloucester, Va. You can Google glennbunch.com and see him in his 1970 dodge challenger. He holds the VIR track record for his class. The Saab Sonnet is a blast to drive. You can't imagine how a 1500 lb. car brakes. You hit the brakes at the 100 ft. marker.

I can, actually.

The all the Rbank Saabs are nuts under braking. I swear they should go into rally, because those things want to rotate so much under braking, it's legitimately scary the first couple times you drive them.

Take a look at glenn's web site. It's really interesting.

Because it's in Houston. I am thinking about using my rally car for lemons or chump. Maybe you want in on that?

Yeah, that's a lot more reasonable.
