Fraud Email received.

I received the following email after posting in the For Sale / Wanted section. I replied and ask for some contact information which he or she was not willing to provide. I hope no one falls for this:

My brother, joel323, was contacted from the same scammer. He responded to a wanted to buy ad that Joel put up for some Dinan springs. He even sent a picture of the supposed springs. Thing is, he sent a picture of some Ladue replicas.

I've had a run in with this guy too after a wtb thread I put up a while ago for some turbine covers. Sent him on a wild goose chase for 'specs' that didn't exist before telling him to get fucked. He goes by the name John Sutherland from the UK (amongst other no doubt) so be wary. He also used google images photo's in the email. Here's the exchange I had with him:

That sounds great. Unfortunately, I view money gram as a tool for scammers, and have had bad experiences in the past,
therefore the only way I feel comfortable making a payment is via paypal. If you would kindly forward

I understand and i would do the same if i were putting on your shoes
but unfortunately,i do not have a PayPal account and i prefer Payment
via Money gram as its easier for me to pick up funds and arrange
shipping. I will never rip you off a 150GBP and will never do so. I am
just looking to sell my Covers for cash to cover up project forces. I
am restoring a Ranger powered F-24R46 and i need cash to finish and

Fair enough, thank you that's not a problem, I will make an exception this time as I can tell you're clearly not a scammer.
Before I send payment through, Can you tell me which model car these covers came from originally? What were the widths (front and rear) of the M-Systems they were attached to? This is important,
as if they don't match the ones my buddy has, they'll be of no use to him. Provided they're indeed the right size, i'll have him transfer the money over this evening!

They are for the BMW e34 540i/6 and they can can also fit the M5
,s38b36. Details for the M-Sytem below,

8jX17" et20

The covers will fit into his BMW e34 540i/6 with ease.

Unfortunately I don't think they'll fit as the offset you've given me is only for the front wheels. The wheels he's got are staggered e31 fitment, and the covers are unique to the 8's.
THe only way to be sure is with a photo of the backside of the covers, so I can determine the bolt spacing as the e31's
are slightly different due to the wider offset in the rear against the M5 or 540iLE. If you can provide me with a photo, i'll go ahead and send the funds immediately, otherwise i'll
have to find some elsewhere.

Now, what to do, what to do ... I prefer having my scam artist names known, so I don't think ban. Perhaps I'll post a nice want to buy and see if I can get some info out of him.

That same guy e-mailed me offering an M30 exhaust. He told me his Paypal was "dormant" and preffered Moneygram. Big red flag went up and told him to "go away scammer". Haven't heard from him again.
