E28 M5 proper car cover??? Do they exist and where?
Looking fo a proper fitting e28 car cover, does anyone know of where to get one?

I have never seen any wear or mar marks on any of my cars which are always all covered when parked in the barn (if just washed). Now, admittedly, these are inside-only covers with a very soft flannel underside.
I personally wouldn't think it would be an issue with outdoor cover either... unless of course there is a big wind storm and the cover is moving around on the car. Keeping the car and the car cover clean before putting it on the car is a must, of course.

There's also California Car Cover, who makes a bunch of different types, all custom fit to your make/model. Tho they aren't cheap, depending on which one you get.

Great covers with a 4yr guarantee. After 3+ years of being in the sun and washing, the elastic around the bottom got stretched out. I called and they replaced it no questions asked.
As someone who covers every night (no garage), i will say you do get a lot of fine scratches (but then i have black paint, which makes it 10x more noticeable). It's that trade off between crap falling out of the sky on your car, vs micro scratches from the cover. The key is to keep everything clean like a couple people have said, but for a daily driver, it's virtually impossible to do that unless you cover it every time you park, even then i dunno. Either that or wash your car every time you get home, heh. If it's a garage queen and you cover it inside your garage, only drive it out a couple times a month, and do a light detail once you get it back home before recovering it, then i doubt you'd notice much scratching.

That's how it all started. Some micro scratches here and there. I kept saying I would take care of them but soon it was too late. I went on a trip and came home to the scratches having turned to rust and poorly repaired accident damage. Most of the clearcoat was gone and the tail lamps broke out of frustration. Inside the car, things were a bit worse. The dash cracked badly, rendering the car "inoperable," the carpet was soaked in brake fluid and one of the Recaros went missing.
I've seen this story play out more times than I'd care to admit. It's time we do something about it. I am sick of the millions of dollars spent on second hand smoke and click-it or ticket campaigns while the atrocities of unsuspecting car coverers continue to ravage the garages of America.wkohler wrote:That's how it all started. RE Car Covers
I just ordered a premium all weather cover for my M535I from a place up here called Hugger Covers. They are apparently quite good. I have also used Covercraft premium on my E9 and was very satisfied, but as usual shipping and duty cost from the US. make it not very cost effective.
