WOT: Shooting in Atlanta...Very Sad...

As of 11:00am EST on 3/11/05, a judge, court reporter and Deputy have been killed by someone on trial for rape. Apparently the suspect, grabbed the Deputy's gun and started shooting in the Courtroom. The suspect is still at large in the ATL metro area.

This is horrible. Prayers to the families of the victims.

It reminds me of the Mark Barton shooting several years ago. He ended his life a few miles from where I used to live.

Any time a Cop (can I say Cop on the board?) loses his/her life for any reason and especially one like this it deeply saddens me. These men and women put their life on the line every minute of their shift for just about what a school teacher makes!!! I have the deepest respect for them. How many of us (not counting Military Personnel) can say that?
Not to overshadow the other people that lost their lives in a senseless crime. My .02 FWIW.

Damn -- that really got my heart started -- my step-uncle is a Superior Court Judge there. If there ever was a case for the death penalty, this is it. Instead, I hope he's killed while resisting the authorities -- going peacefully to sleep via lethal injection is too good for him.
