Yesterday I washed my cars in my own driveway for the first time. :-) Some pics:

And after a cleaning with 303 Cleaner--thanks to Layton (I think?) for recommending this stuff!! (Edit: I think it was actually Booker.)


Now I can serve dinner off the inside of my wheels, should the mood strike.

Now I just need to get new summer shoes and get the Style 4s back on the E28. I think I'm going for the Kumho Ecsta MX in 205/55-16; they're a wider-than-most tire and per TireRack specs, the 205 should give effectively the same contact patch as a 225 ES100. An E36 M3 buddy of mine gushed about 'em over dinner for about 20 minutes, and I've driven his M3 on them. Suckas stick.

Yes, I still have the snow tires on, mounted on 15x7" wheels of unknown origin (5-spokes). They are the wheels that were on the car when I bought it, and while they resemble an E46 325i wheel, they don't require a spacer and are not identical to anything in the BMW wheel catalog.

I am very happy with that tire in 225/50-16 on 7.5x16 wheels. Fits just fine with my lowered suspension (Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks).

i've cleaned my wheels like that once.. cause it only lasts like 4 days before it looks like the first picture again.. lol

Try using Rejex after you clean, inside and out. It makes brake dust MUCH easier to remove. I haven't used it on my wheels yet, but I used it on my dad's M3 and, though he's bad about washing his car regularly, the wheels wipe clean with a damp cloth 5 and 6 months later. Great stuff.

And Bob S, thanks for the tip but the MXs were backordered for 8 WEEKS! Got another set of ES100s, which are "good enough" and were $100 cheaper to boot. I'm a track novice (2 schools only), and the ES100 is a nice, progressive, LOUD on the limit tire to learn on. Woulda liked the extra stick at the 5erfest Autox though!
