Because I can't turn down a cool project. Like I didn't have enough stuff going on alrerady. Saturday night we started the upgrade of my brother's airboat to fuel injection. Arizona Speed and Marine manifold and an Electromotive TEC3r ECU. Replacing the Holley carb, engine is a Chevy ZZ502.
D, post some more pics when you get a chance! That airboat is awesome! My X's dad has an airboat with I think a Chevy 350 in it. Not too much compared to that beast y'all are working on.
I'll get more pics when I get back down to work on it later this week or this weekend. We just started this past weekend, but it should go together pretty quick. Other than fabricating the mounts for the crank trigger pickup and the coil packs, and a location for the ECU, most of it is simple bolt on stuff. The fuel system is the biggest pain because the tank is set up for a carb and it is buried down in the hull, and the boat has a full deck.
That is the Sunshine Skyway, and it is cool at night or really anytime it isn't windy and nasty. My favorite is top down in the MGB at night, spectacular. It needs a good repaint, though. The cables are getting kinda shabby. I think they blew the budget repairing the main supports that were discovered to be rusting out from the inside, though.
Whats really cool is the view up at the top of those towers =)
My dad is a transportation planner and worked in Tampa for 18 years. He began working in the area just as the bridge was completed and was involved with alot of post planning related to it.
