If all goes as planned, I'll be driving
this route, heading back home some time Friday afternoon.
Not sure yet of the times I'll be passing through your town, but...
Ate tree too - tree to six - niner O for seven will be the best way to contact me.
No internet for me while traveling, but my phone does take pictures.
P.S.
It'd be nice to have a contact or two in case of emergency.
I won't be in a rental car.

That's where I'd lay my money, if I were the bettin' type.
Why not
alter your route a little; I'll make it worth your while.

Shermo,
Come up to Toronto for a night for a visit.
What the heck are you doing in Detroit?

Update! I just talked to Sherman and he was near Bowling Green, KY. The car was running great and the weather was mild. He said he would stop and post to the thread in a few hours.

Couldn't wait the few hours.
In Bowling Green, KY headed to Tejas.
Stopped and robbed some wifi from Drury Inn. I'm sure they won't miss it.
Aside from the few warts, she's a runner.
Got a

while cruising down 75 north of Cincinnati.
Then got another while gassing up just east of Louisville after having dinner with my BIL.
Sorry about the non-altering route, but
I'm on a Mission from God.
My only contact while on the road is the cell, and, I don't text

.
No

, but I would stop for a coffee, breakfast, etc...
Adios guys, gotta

.

Sherman, you better bring that thing out to our next gtg.

Sooner or later, most likely sooner, your going to run out of parking space in your backyard.

Too bad I didn't catch this earlier. I could have recommended two great eateries in the Detrioit area...

1,344 miles, 21:10 of moving time, 4:37 of stopped time*, and $201.38 cents of 93 octane fuel later I am home.
* Stopped time = A + B
A - 1:15 sleep + 0:45 dinner w/ BIL + 4 gas stops + :20 sit down fast food meal for lunch today.
B - A few traffic lights starting in Texarkana + the 30 +/- mile nightmare through the south side of Cincinnati on I-75 and then continuing on to I-71heading towards Louisville.

Gotta get it street legal first.
Are you going to be the 4th Houston area resident to own both an E28 and an E34 ///M5?

Holy cats; that's some hard-core driving! Time for some shut-eye. I don't expect to see any more posts from you until sometime tomorrow afternoon. Sweet dreams, Sherman. Sleep well and dream of fast cars.
BTW, that car was a serious temptation for me. I went so far as to check flights to Detroit. Good thing for you that winter is just about upon us and I have no place to put a seventh car around my house.

I wasn't planning on it but now that you bring it up...
You sure pulled a fast one on us, dropping no hints or anything last Monday!

The car wasn't even for sale last Monday. I talked the seller into buying it once he told me about it. He briefly thought about keeping it but decided that it needed a different owner. I think he found the right guy.

I was alerted to the ad about noon on Thursday, and first saw it around 6 PM.
Then it took a couple of hours to get up the courage to discuss it with the wife,
she didn't immediately go along with the idea, but she can't stand my pouting.

Hit IAH at 3:30 Friday morning...
Now you know, the rest of the story.

This is sweet Sherman.

I sent you a text but if you have texts blocked then you never got it but greeting from Ohio!

Thanks Randy.
This one's actually in better shape overall than my E28 ///M5 was when I picked it up,
and I paid a bit less for this one too.
I feel really

about the purchase, and think I'm going to enjoy it as my new daily

for awhile.

I wish you'd called, if it'd been convenient I'd loved to have stopped by.
I should have been clearer in the first post about that.

My bad.
While on the Ohio subject, I'll say that they were the most courteous drivers on the trip.
The vast majority obeyed the speed limit, and the occasional one that exceeded it
were thoughtful enough to almost immediately pull back over to the right hand lane after passing.

When I picked the car up a week ago I was really impressed with it. I'm really glad this car went to a deserving new owner. I just wasn't up to the task of taking it back to where it should be. Unfortunately it has left me BMW-less. I will have to find another E28 soon!
Sherman, glad the trip went smooth. I knew the car would make it.

Steve, I'm pumped in every way.
Thanks for not being greedy with the resale.
Blessings to you and your family.
