Hella 5.75" BiFocal H1/Lows - now extinct

Post by MisterFixit »

UPDATE - NLA as of late last year (2019)
For reference ONLY

These are on the shelf -- YESTERDAY!

Here is data and a pic of the lights, thought to be the best available halogen light since the Cibie CSR H1 lows were discontinued.

There is more discussion on this post in Tech Talk:
http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=89190

Here is the Hella Bi-Focus.

Since the CSR factory was dismantled, they are the best available (in Daniel Stern's and my opinion) H1 lows, similar to the CSR design. They are just low beam. They have a steel reflector, cast aluminum bulb socket, and come with an optional city light if you want that.

It is a direct fit for US buckets. No new buckets, grills, nothing but a relay change so the lows stay on as originally designed -- similar to the Euro setup, but using a different bulb and more modern optics. They do well with 55W H1, but can take higher wattage bulbs as well.

Here is the optometric performance graph.

Hope this is useful to the lighting geeks in the audience.

I am ready to order a boatload of these, for whomever is interested. I have five pair reserved, with an option for another 3-5 pair.

Contact me by email or PM to establish your place on the list, and place your refundable deposit of $200. Figure on some small adjustment after bulbs, shipping, headlight protection, etc. are added.

Not this particular light, only comes in the smaller size.

I can look for a 7" low for you if you want, let me know.

Bump - oh - Rooney!

OK, I am ordering a set tomorrow morning.

Anyone want to get in on this and save on $hipping?

Price- $89 each, plus shipping, plus bulbs. I can get Narva H1 RangePower +50s for $22 a pair.

City light - add $4 each. Plus shipping- probably go flat rate for lowest cost.

Any takers? If I order several sets, the shipping cost inbound will be quite reasonable.

Last chace to save a couple of finns...

 Yeah, I do. Sorry, I was looking at the wrong line -- the $16 is for a pair of the standard H1, Range Powers are $22 a pair.

Good catch, Frybrid!!! You are keeping me honest.

OK, I'm pulling the trigger.

I am ordering today so if you want to be on the list, get in touch right away. It may take a day to get them boxed up and shipped, so wait only as long as you dare.

They are available tomorrow, and next week too, but you will save on shipping if you get in on today's order.

I am asking for a $200 paypal 'deposit', to get your pair of lights in the box. Adding bulbs and so forth will bring it up over that, if not you'll get a refund with the lights.

Best option at this point is send me an email.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
