Opinion on E24 decals/ stripes

I am looking to add some decals on my 635csi. I am wondering what other people think.
I am thinking about the stripes as seen in this video from 1978 like it might come from the factory.

Here are some examples:
Front air dam only:
Sides only:
Silver all around
gold?
Any opinions/ other ideas? I am leaning towards the silver on black all the way around
For reference, here is a picture of my 635CSi as it sits currently:

This. JPS all the way. Just need to buy the e50 centerlocks to complete the look.

Whatever you do, don't put that ugly-ass Alpina Tron crap on your car.
I think the Motorsport stripe kit (which there's two different versions that apparently fall under the same part number

) would look tacky on a black car.
I'd go for the first link in C.R.'s posting. Get the silver ones. If you get the gold ones, you'll have to wear a Big Ben around your neck.
I think your car has a pretty clean look without the side mouldings as-is, though I think if anything, you could do the standard stripe, which is also period correct for the car, and not that expensive.

JPS win.

The JPS striping is fairly thin so it won't be visible like the #62 has it done if you copy the original. Need to outline the car segments, too. That and supporting tobacco...
Gold, especially shiny gold seems to be a 'pimp my ride' color as opposed to a color that adds class to the vehicle.
BMW usually put pin stripes on a car that brought out the color of the interior. That is why the silver stripes look good on a black e24 with the silver or oyster interior. It would be a bit loud on a black interior.
The motorsport stripes, done as pin stripes look good on a black car but should be backed up lest the motorsport police get their panties in a bunch.
The Alpina stripes are too much, go with the Hartge stripes.
I think I like the BMW stripes the best of the lot.

I'm sure you've seen this already (from bigcoupe) but..
...motorsport stripes on an e24.
Weirdly enough I was looking at this all of three minutes before I saw your post!

Thanks for the opinions guys.
I agree about the silver strips all around, and yes my car does have a black interior so I haven't been able to decide yet.
My car isn't an M6, but it is the Euro M90 (same motor/ trans as the E12 M535i). I do want a period correct look though.
Thanks for the links C.R.. - The Ebay stripes was what I was looking at.

For that price, how wrong could it be? Those are period correct stripes. They even come in most of the stock E24 1/24 scale models I've seen, so you could build a scale model of your car. I just never liked them all that much.
