Intercooler location M102

Been trying to figure out the best location for the stock M102 intercooler in my E24. Has anyone mounted the stock intercooler from the 745? If so can you tell me what the best location is? I've tried to mount it after the passenger side's headlight, but it will not fit. Has someone some pictures from their project?

I mounted the stock i/c in the stock location. with the bumpers off & the i/c out, cut the surrounding metal flange about 1" beyond opening of the i/c. Then trace it out on the new core area, sawzall and remove , reinstall with self drilling sheetmetal screws, mig & grind, to finish

That stock intercooler is really crappy. It actually raises IAT's if mounted in the wrong place and hurts performance. Get a bigger AIR/AIR unit off ebay and mount in front or go with a water/air unit.

So, I've made up my mind after reading both here as on Scottie Sharpe's site that the stock intercooler is crap.I have decided to start with running the car non intercooled and see what happens. I can still mount an Air to water intercooler afterwards.
