I've noticed in the past a local M535i with what looks like M-systems style wheels but upon closer inspection they turned out to be full hubcaps.

This weekend I found a 535is in a local pick-n-pull style junkyard with the same hubcaps.
So I snagged them and was wondering what are they called and what did they come on ?

The hubcaps are 15" and also look like they fit inside of the standard E28 metric alloys.

These wheel covers are from early E34 5 series models that had black steel wheels. They could be ordered as an accessory part in most markets but were not available as standard equipment in the USA.

Interesting - I've never seen those before.

I've looked at this thread maybe fifteen times and it wasn't until right now I noticed the OP wasn't Tim in N FL.

This is exactly the type of informative answer I was hoping to get by posting my question.

So you are saying that they were never offered for the E28 but only for the E34 ?

I know that I had never spotted any other E28's with them in the US dating back to the mid 80's at least.
All of our US cars came with alloys as far as I was aware of at least.


Sorry about the confusion over my tach avatar......I've used it dating back over 10 years on the e30 specific boards.
