Not on the forum much and this is my first post to the new forum. Thought this would be a good place to ask.
I ordered some plug wires and some urethane bushings last Friday and the order hasn't shipped yet.

Another time I ordered hood insulating pads, nothing happened for 10 days till I called back and they said it would be a month. Huh!
Is this slow or am I too impatient.

1 month and I would start asking some questions about their service

BMP is a US based company no? Why more than a week, nothing should be on backorder or in the stockrooms.

Call them up and tell them what you think.

Shop from Steve and DPP for fast service.

I bet the stuff you ordered was on backorder.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. All I was trying to find was anyone with a similar problem with this supplier.
But what everyone didn't know or notice is that none of these parts are
OEM or exact replacement.
The wires are performance and the bushings are urethane for the F&R roll bars.
I don't know if any of the regulars can get anything but stock or OEM replacements.
If so then speak up with what you have.
Shifty was right the wires are backordered.

having shopped from them a few times, the best thing to do is to call in orders, they will tell u what is on back order, they make alot in house but have to source out things (i had to wait 2 weeks while they got the teflon bushings for adjustable sway links) u can get stuff sent with out the back order things, and i have even gotten them to pay shipping on the second package b4.

I have never been disappointed with either www.bmpdesign.com or with bavauto.com in all the years I have owned the e28 (since new in 1985). Damn, that is 20 years of satisfaction!

Also, no dis meant about the parts pimps Bryan or Steve .

But, my local BMW dealer parts counter guys have been great, and have usually offered a BMWCCA discount that matched or bettered catalog prices and even those from Steve and Bryan. Sometimes it took a while to get there, but once they pried themselves from behind the parts counter to actually walk to the parking area to look at my car we arrived at a good deal.

agree with layton and tacm that brian, steve, and david are the best.

david let me hang out at his shop all day to sell a 7 dollar oil sending unit recently and brian and steve never need questioning about their parts delivery.

i call steve for many things and brian for others and never once question the pricing because it is the best you'll find for what they offer and they will gladly tell you if you need to order from someone else for a better rate...

for example, one time i called brian for control arms for an e30 and he referred me to steve because steve had a better price on them. Its service like that that allows me to just call one of them up and tell them what i need without worry on price because i know i'm getting the best price and service available.

bmp has only been bad once when i needed a reciever/dryer by a certain date and they failed to get it to me via requested overnight packaging. In that case they refunded my shipping and offered to pay for return shipping to them and forget the wole thing.


basically, i think any of these people will treat you right but i'm partial to brian or steve..

Besides the $9, my wires are 8mm. The BMP wires are 7mm.

How does your set handle the resistance problem with different length wires. What difference will 1mm make?
Is your set considered performance or same as OEM and if so why? What is the primary conductor?
Are all the conectors as good as OEM?
What color wire is available?
How long does it take to get a set?

BMW ignition wires don't use resistance wire -- the conductor is stranded and the resistor is in the distributor-end terminal.

1mm gives you 14% more dielectric distance, and assuming the dielectric is the same or better, you'll have more effective insulation.

We use these wires on all our turbo cars. They have performed perfectly to date. They are available in black, red and blue. They ship same day as ordered from Cali.

I agree with TCD's assessment.

The catalog sure is purdy though -- and makes for a fine diversion whilst on the crapper.

Todd, does KB pay your freight ?

FWIW....we all use these same wires with no problems ,,except I had 1 problem a few years that I am still not sure wires were not the problem and I did have 1 problem for sure, but they are very good at fixing any problems that the wires do have.
