Bilstein sports and H&Rs. The rears are set on the second notch from the bottom I believe. 205/55/16 Yokohama Avid V4Ss on 16x8 ET23 Style 5s. No rubbing front or rear... Everything cleared with 225/50/16 AVS ES100s too, with a 1/8" spacer up front.

Euro bumpers and B35 swap are coming. :D

Spax springs with Bilstein sports. Has ST 25/19 sways. Wheels are 17x8.5+13F/17x10+19R with 235/40/17 / 255/40/17 tires. Ride quality is quite firm but very streetable. It's a comfy DD that handles quite well, you just have to drive it carefully and remember that it's low.

Stagg 17"s on Dunlop 225/45 and 245/40.
Boge TG/ M-Tech springs in front, stock Bilstein in rears.
Ride is comfy with the Boge TG, it was stiffer with the Bilstein Sports.
Think I'm gonna put the turbine covers back on and save the t-stars for the shadowline future.
The ride is even more comfy with the stagg 16" RA's on 205/55 and 215/50. Pics of those soon.

Here's my other piece of shit:

Image

Ground Control Coilovers
Front: 440 lb/in 7" springs with Koni Adjustables
Rear: 400 lb/in 7" springs with Koni Adjustables
Adjustable camber plates
Billet Rear Shock Mounts

I've also got an adjustable rear subframe with urethane bushings, ST 25/19 bars with adjustable endlinks, front and rear strut/shock tower braces and that just about does it for suspension.

The wheels in that photo are 17x8 ET20 BBS RC090 (17" style 5s). They rode okay. I'm a much larger fan of the 16" wheels in my signature. They're not total pieces of absolute shit like the style 5s. They're Hartge Style As 16x7.5 ET13 front and 16x8.5 ET25 rear with 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 rear Sumitomo HTRZs. I'm very impressed with that tire, though I wasn't expecting to be.

Mason Engineering 1 piece steel strut tower bar
Mason Engineering 1 piece steel shock tower bar
Mason Engineering X-Brace
Mason Engineering Front sway bar endlinks
Mason Engineering Rear sway bar endlinks
Mason Engineering strut tower reinforcement plates
Mason Engineering shock tower reinforcement plates
Ground Control coilover conversion
Ground Control billet rear shock mounts
Ground Control helper spring adapter
Custom rear mount aluminum bushings
Eibach Race Springs 600 front/750 rear
Eibach helper springs
Bilstein sport dampers with custom valving
Suspension Techniques 22/16mm sway bars
Energy Suspension urethane sway bar bushings
Vorshlag camber/caster plates
BF Goodrich G-Force Sport 225/50/15 tires
E34 15x7" ET20 wheels

The front is all stack height drop, and i lowered the rear only like 1/4" in addition to the stack height drop. I leave the geometry correct and enjoy the handling characteristics that were built into the car. The tires lowered the car's ride height about an inch as well since it has a shorter rolling diameter.

They're from an E24. From conversations with those in the business back then, some buyers would option those from the dealer.

Chris have you looked at the Style 15's?
They're not an exact match, but they're the closest you're going to get to that TRX in a 16" wheel: 16x7.5

Too bad they're not that common, I like it.

Yeah, there about as common as the Style 4, actually a tad harder to come by. Ricky in SD has a set on his and they do look good. There's a few yards/dealers on ebay selling some; some even refinished and the costs are not all that prohibitive.
A yard in MA pulled a set off of an E38 740i (the car they came on).http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHEEL-Bm ... ccessories

I've been on the fence between these, the 4's, and the M5 Style 5's for a few months now (likely to go with the 4's since I found a supplier for the center caps).

Apologies to the OP, I know you're question was about suspension systems. I haven't done it yet, but am planning on the following (some of it's maintenance more than upgrade):
Bilstein HD's all around
Stock Springs, stock height (I know, I know...)
M5 stock Sway Bars, Brackets and Bushings
Stock (Lemforder or Meyle) UCA's with 750 HD Bushings
Stock (Lemforder) LCA's, Aluminum
Stock Tie Rods
16" Wheels (as mentioned)

Style 9s with 235s under BBS progressive rate springs and Billie Sports. Not too sure about the pedigree of the BBS springs. They have BBS part numbers on them and I vaguely remember a suspension campaign back in the mid 80s but I've never ran across another pair. I had to trim the meat off the inner lip on the rears with a cutoff wheel to fit the tires. BTW, she turned 354k on the drive back from Boston this morning, about 1hr after I took this photo in a Needham parking garage.

That's a sharp-looking car. Never heard of the BBS springs. Prettay kewl.

Springs: Racing Dynamics
Shocks: Boge
Wheel: 17x8 e39 style 5s
Tires: Shitty 205/40-17. they were on the car when I bought it. (next tire purchase will be 225s)

The ride is actually quite excellent, however, the wheels and tires make bumps a bit choppy.
