I've decided to part with my 524td it's an 86 chassis with an 85 524td engine swapped in that has 245500 miles on the clock. The swap was done this last March, all the diesel electronics, from the cluster, check control, etc.. were all swapped over and everything works exactly as it should, even the odometer still works. Exterior wise the paint is faded and there are some dents and dings, the driver's door has been replaced with a black door due to accident damage. Interior is fair some cracks and rips in the interior mostly on the driver's seat. Suspension has had the entire front end rebuilt, control arms, thrust arms, tie rods etc.. Shocks are Bilstein Hd's. Rims are off an 99 528i and have the correct metal hubcentric rims. The 5-speed conversion was completed when the swap was done, it's very rare to find a 5-speed turbo diesel. And with the 5-speed I'd get 30 mpg city driving. Right now the engine is consuming water threw the combustion chamber, I'm not sure if it's the headgasket or what. Car is driveable but you have to keep a constant eye on the water level or it will start getting hot.
I'm asking $1000 for it, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

How much just for engine and trans? I've got an 84 318i I got for free, and been toying with the idea of an e30 diesel. Kinda sketched about the coolant loss, as I know these engines love to eat heads.

I don't have the resources to part it out right now
