Up for sale is my nicely modified1983 533i. It has a 5 speed manul transmission in perfect working order. It also sports an M30 engine from a Euro M635csi. This is the high compression 218 BHP "dirty" engine.
The car has 363,xxx miles, but the original engine was replaced at 300,000 miles with the Euro engine. At that time, the Euro engine has 119,000 miles on it so it has a total of 182,000 miles now. The engine runs perfectly, idles smoothly, accelerates flawlessly and is very fast! The transmission shifts smoothly through all gears and the clutch acts and feels just as it should.
Performance upgrades include:
The paint is in overall very good condition for a 1983 car. Most is original except for driver's door, back passenger door, and rear quarter panel. The previous owner had an accident to the right rear about 12 years ago that was fixed and the driver's door had some repairs done several years ago as well.
Only the roof of the car has a small spot where the paint is fading, otherwise it still shines as new.
This is an everyday driver and is not perfect. Overall mechanically the car is solid and I would not hesitate to get in and drive it cross country. That being said, there are a few minor issues:
Included with the purchase of the car will be 2 additional rust-free doors, the two original front seats in decent condition, the original TRX wheels with tires (tires aren't good), a large box of miscellenous parts for the car, and a Bentley repair manual.
The car is located in North Suburban Chicago and can be seen and driven up until it snows. After that, she is put away until spring-time.
Asking price: $3,800 OBO.

Performance upgrades include:
- -Auto Authority chip
-3.73 LSD
-M5 exhaust
- -E30 leather seats in very good condition with no rips, tears, or cuts. Only some "spider veins" from normal wear.
-M5 front spoiler in ok condition. It has a crack but doesn't look too bad and can be fixed easily.
-M5 rear spoiler in perfect condition.
-Glass sunroof.
-Euro lights with wipers (although wipers are non-operational as the pump never worked correctly, but the wipers do add to the overall look).
-17 x 8 throwing star wheels with Falken tires that have less than 8,000 miles on them.
-Shawn D. custom gauge package.
-Map light rear view mirror
-Ireland Engineering front strut bar.
-Racing Dynamics sway bars.
-Bilstein's all the way around.
-Real shadowline trim tail lights
-Shadowline trim windows (most window pieces are real shadowline but some pieces are painted chrome and are slightly peeling. When I got all the pieces some were too bent to install properly so I painted the chrome ones to match. It's only a couple of side window pieces).

This is an everyday driver and is not perfect. Overall mechanically the car is solid and I would not hesitate to get in and drive it cross country. That being said, there are a few minor issues:
- -Cruise control does not work. It hasn't worked since I bought the car and I never have had the desire to get it fixed.
-A/C has a leak. It was upgraded to R134 and shortly thereafter ran dry. The blower still blows, but it just blows warm indicating all the freon leaked out.
-The driver's side back window just stopped working. It should be a minor fix, and if so, I'll have it taken care of before sale.
-The body has some minor spots of rust. It's not bad now, but it will require attention eventually. It's barely noticeable but it is on a couple of doors, the rear wheel wells, and a small spot by the windshield. Like I said, all areas are small right now and are not too noticeable.
