Looks like a very nice car. It has a 745i conversion. How much better is that than the stock m30 3.5l engine? Just curious... Also, would a 745i engine pass calif smog?

This car 'might' pass Cali smog if you add a 745i vin code & emblems. On top of that you'd probably need an inspector with big glasses & bad eyesight. I'm just saying...cdevine wrote:Looks like a very nice car. It has a 745i conversion. How much better is that than the stock m30 3.5l engine? Just curious... Saw this done at a magic show. The amazing disappearing/reappearing vin. The magician was able to make a new one appear with diff #'s & new rivets. It was amazing!landspeed wrote:But that would be illegal, wink, wink.Nebraska_e28 wrote:This car 'might' pass Cali smog if you add a 745i vin code & emblems. Here's the original thread on this car: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=41177
No bids and, yes, apparently it was once my car.

there is absolutely no way that this car will ever pass any smog test in california "legally". Sure you can register and usea connection to smog it but that will not be done correctly and every two years you will have to go through it all again. Now if you have those connections then by all means go for it.
