What are people using to mount a trigger wheel on the S38's? I am building a Megasquirt standalone ECU. From what I have read my options are machine a Ford EDIS wheel to the crank pulley or is there a later model (say E34 or E39) that already has one that I can use?

You can use a 60-2 wheel from an e34. That is the clean bolt up solution.

Thanks, I did not know if that was a direct replacement. Looks like a trip to the boneyard is in order and fabricate a bracket for the sensor.

I should be a little more clear...i know this setup works for M30 blocks, but you will have to double check if the S38 crank will accept the wheel.

The 60-2 wheel does fit the S38. I had one on the M635.
I have a spare if you can't find one locally.

Thanks John, I'll let you know if I can't find one but I think I know where one is.

Do you have a picture of the bracket you used to support your crank sensor and what sensor did you use (e.g. Bosch. GM, Ford)?

60-2

It all bolts up. The bracket is bolt on from the same m30b35 setup. I'm using the b35 sensor as well. The bracket is made up of two pieces and a bolt. BMW sells the assembly for around $14.

Thanks, that part of the puzzle is solved.
