hello all im wondering if this will work i assume tuning will have to be adjusted ass swell as pressure due to having a 2 liter. power guesstimation i think would be at around 200 hp?

im in germany and im looking at all my options the car now has 150k kilometers so 93 k miles. just replaced the guibo and otherwise everything mechanicaly is in great shape especially the engine.

let me hear your thoughts. i personally dont want more power then 230ish hp (i know that seems weird BUT 1. i dont need more 2. gas prices are ridiculous and the more power the more gas guzlling)

also any tips on LSD wise ? i live in germany so going fast is all nice and good but i drive alot of backroads and dont go faster then 190kmh or 180kmh at all so lower gearing would be nice BUT i have no clue about the specific codes of dirrerentials etc. so please help me out

i appriciate it

EDIT:
BTW I have currently a budget of around 4000 USD just would like to reach around 200whp otherwise the car is perfectly setup with the KAW suspension, tires and wheels just missing the power. another possibility might be a swap to the m20b25

We can hook you up. I even have a T4 turbo samll enough for that power level. The biffest obstacle will be the engine management. What type is that car running?

bosch motronik 0261200152 its the same as the e30 m20b20. i could possibly get an ecu to you guys, that would be a possibility if it makes things easier

Same injection as the e30 325i. A 173 2.5i ecu would plug right in and run it.

Perfect. 19lb injectors, fmu and chip and it would work well.

If you dont mind my asking, what kind of T4 frame turbo would suit a low boost, small displacement application?

I have a T04b that is tiny. Abt the size of a T3-60.

We could also supply a T04e-46 with a Stage 4 turbine if the customer decided to run 1 bar.

what do you assume is the safest ? im not trying to achive crazy power but still wanting a kick in the behind when i push the accelerator.

running 1 bar wich would equal ~14psi is pretty much in the area. I see the m20b25 running with 10 psi but im also assuming that thers alot more engine work done to it and a heftier turbo setup.

with what kind of turbo and investment do you think i can reach and pass the 200whp line ?

let me know also i will have to check on the turboes if they have (wich i think they do) the TUV and possibly also a german ABE

I dont think you realize quite how much power you can attain with a turbocharger, and also how strong and reliable the m20 is even boosting over 1 bar. 200 RWHP is nothing. 250 RWHP would be a good start for a 2 liter. See how you like it and go from there. I think you'll like it quite a lot. Dont even worry about reliability. As far as gas guzzling it would be a negligible difference between 200 and 250 RWHP, assuming an equal amount of full throttle operation for each power level. With a turbocharger, you can have your cake and eat it too.

no i didnt until now. i know that the m20 is a very strong engine. i mean the car has been my dads since 1986 so i know everything about it and so far nothing has broken mechanically just the regular maintenance stuff.

id say with 250RWHP i will be super happy and the gas wont kill me too much, that was actually my goal shooting for around there.

and i think i will like it alot too because anytime i have been in a boosted bmw its instant drool factor or actually in any boosted car and i get hooked.

i will do some checking up etc on the TUV over here and see whats going on but otherwise i have my mind set.

so what would be the next step i have to take ? i assume contact you via phone talk over things etc. ?

The m20b20 only makes 129bhp so that's about ~110rwhp. It's going to take 12-13psi to get to 200rwhp with an intercooler. 250rwhp will be pushing it a bit.

thanks todd those were actually my thoughts and i was skeptical of reaching past the 250rwhp range on the 2 liter. im looking into my options of how to make power the safest and also the least cash consuming and im steering towards a m20b25 swap wich will keep me in german regulations and then going turbo with it to a later date as you can reach much more incredible numbers with the b25. i would think that might be the best way to go. the b25 makes 170bhp so around 150rwhp ?

let me hear your thoughts on this
