My Car WIth 18" wheels

These are Style 5's BBS (i think they are designated RC) 18x8 Offset20 WIth 225/40R18 rear and 225/35/R18 front.
Suprisingly enough they actully feel better for comfort than my Old 16"s , Im quite shocked..as i expected it to be Horrid.
But my car is exremly stiff Suspension wise..ie: you can not even push it down from the bonnet barely.) Prehpas thats why the ill effects of large wheels is probably less noticable..but whats wierd it seems to ride the bumps better?
But it is Letting a bit loose on the rear in corners...im not sure of the Crap Second hand tyre si have on the rear...or The wheel size...I was think the Wheel size has effected Self Alighning torque...The abilty for the wheels to turn back byu them selves to straight forward.
This may be the case...as it feels like it is not coming back as fast as it used to...and if it is doing that coming out of the corner there is more Latreal force against the rear tyres making them slip.
The First photo is done with the flash:

The second with out flash

THis is a Pci with a 50cent coin on the Lip..it is out biggest coin here..BIG LIP.
There was no Mods done to fit these..they where perfect. My car is lowered BTW..and really the whole circumfrence was the same as the old 16's with the 35 tyres..compard to 55's

Very nice aaron.. I like! Was wondering what 18's would look like on an e28. Though, save and get better tyres :P
I cant speak, i dont even have tyres for my RS's yet.

Yeah; like
we know how big an Ozzie half dollar is ...
Y'know, it's no secret I'm not a big fan of huge wheels, especially on an E28, but these don't look half bad. Quite nice, in fact. Or maybe it's just the Zinnoberot ... 8)

Nice looking wheels, but a little to large for my taste on an e28. I think 17' are the max. for these cars, but to each his own. Not to mention they would be bend to hell in no time at all with the shitty roads here in the Boston area.

on the e28 i think i like the tucked look better
as to why the ride qual seems better... have u been checking tire pressures regularly?
also summer tires have steel belts in the sides and better reinforcing than say winter or all seasons...altho in aus u prolly only have summer tires?

THanks guys,
Sparkle: Not sure..Id liek to keep them..and put some race rubber on them for Race days etc..
BahnStormer: The photo was taken just as i finished putting them on and it has not settled yet..this morning it was Quite nice...I thought it would fill up the frnt Wheel arches more..but nope.
(i have an idea why it is like that...and am going to get Coilovers anyway so i will adjust them down.
As for Tyre Preuures..all summer tyres here..I always check my pressures...I had alot in them from a Driving day i had..about 42pound i think from memory...Not sure of what the Tyre pressure is with the 18's
ROY..Know what you mean..i only bought them satisfy my curiostiy...not sure how long i will keep them. they dont even look so much like 18" when you see them in person...Unlike the big crhomie ones etc.. Im a big fan of 16" myself.
C.R The 50cent coin is alot like your..Ummm...Ohh thats right i dont have clue about your coinage either so we are even
And yeh...same..never a big fan...still not sure..but what is good about these is that they dont look to diffrent to what i had as 16" so they dont tend to stand out as 18" prehaps that has somethin to do with it...Ohh and the Zinnor..Lovely cinnomon
Coopa...GET Dunlop SP3000A's I had them 205/50/R16 Just awesome...Best tyre i have had. Yeh these Rear Tyres Really suck...im about to get some Nankangs to replace them.

Yeh and What is a "Winter" Ive heard the expression..but am perplexed. (actully it is quite cold here in the mornings lately in Melb.

Well, no; not exactly.
Cinnamon ('Zimt') is a brown spice.
Cinnabar ('Zinnober') is mercury sulfide. As a naturally occurring compound, it is brown to bright red and well, you can find out more than you really wanted to know
here.

I have the exact same wheels - only 8X18" front and 9X18" rear, with 225/40 & 255/35 tires. They came from e38 and fits like a glove (with rolled fenders).
I suggest you to use 225/40 front tires - 225/35 looks too much like a belt on the rim.
225/40 fits nicely - I have 40mm lowering springs and I haven't had any problems with rubbing (I'm still using standard shocks).

I'd suggest this as well - never seen a car running lower aspect ratio tires on the front.
