I didn't say it was a "complete" kit :p
Theres no Turbotronics box also, so you'll at least need a FMU also. But that kit will get you 90% of the way there. You'll also need some exhaust work to mate the down pipe to the cat. It's has the oil pan tube for the return line from the turbo. You'll need to make a high side oil line from the oil filter canister to the turbo. Depending on the power, you'll need bigger injs also(not pictured). You'll need hose clamp, nuts/bolts, AFM bracket and vacum line hookups.

That's making my $481 complete 745i look like an even MORE smokin' deal... His opening price covers the cost of the car plus having the KKK rebuilt, and the cost of the Team745i adj WG; for his BIN I'll have the whole she-bang installed in the e12 with the M106 freshened, RRFPR, and modded ECU.
It's good to be me.

Russ:
There appears to be quite a few differences between your setup (e28), my setup (e23), and the one on ebay (e24). Did their kits "evolve" over time, or did they just use different parts for the different models?

i'm sure the added lag you will get with the KKK turbo will more than make up for the money you saved

Both, evolve and parts changes, it was also dependent on power level desired. SteveD would make custom parts if the budget was large enough.
Also, over the years people have hacked the kits, making there own parts to suit their needs. But one thing I'm pretty sure of, Dinan never used a FMU, he never liked them and he didn't design it. That was the whole purpose behind the TurboTronics stuff. Although, the FMUs now are a great solution to a hard problem, there much more reliable now.
But, these kits are very similar, only small changes in the piping and such. The ICs in these kits is smaller, hence a smaller output. Those IC on cali gas will make ~300hp. You'll the large IC like mine for higher output, say the 350hp range.

I'm old; a little lag is necessary for my stunted motor skills to spool up fully.

The FMU was purchased separately, and not included in the kit. I just happened to set it next to the Dinan stuff for the pic. There is a turbotronics box in one of those bags, but I'll probably just use a TCD chip & FMU instead. Which reminds me...I still gotta pay for that FMU...

Do you happen to know the core dimensions of your IC? I think I'll be able to get some pretty good airflow to this IC, with some creative sawzall-ing. 300hp is about what I'm after.

Mines 2x that size of yours, and yes, it needed cutting to fit.

You're barking up the wrong tree there chris
But you're right... k27s sure are laggy - but they pack a decent punch when they hit full boost.
