All, I have my 88 M5 at a mechanic friends place (retired BMW mechanic that worked on these cars since the 80's) for a valve adjustment. The engine when we bought it in but he's now having problems getting it to turn over so that he can set the valve shims (neither backwards or forwards). He thinks that the tensioner may have bled down and caused the chain to bind up on itself.
He knows these cars very well and I have confidence that it will get figured out but I'm not sure if i've run across such a problem with any of my cars so I'm wondering if anyone here has any thoughts or experiences with this.
I'm keen to drive this car again.
