Fuse box wiring

Hi, quick, dumb question. I replaced my rusted battery box, it took a while. I am now questioning where one wire from the fuse box goes:

It's and '82 528e, from the fuse box there is a fat collection of wires (that I did not touch) AND a single black wire exiting towards the front. Where does that narrow wire go. I swear it was on the positive terminal...does anyone have an 82 and can confirm?

thanks, Chuck

I've never seen a black wire used as a positive. Make sure before connecting it.

Thank you for reply. thought I'd add an image, It's the black wire I'm holding, coming from the fuse box - I am thinking it was a grounded with the battery ground (I thought all grounds were brown?)...I've looked at wiring diagrams and can't seem to see where that goes...thanks, Chuck

OK, it's not black, it just has a black sheath. The actual color may be red and that goes to positive.

I stripped some of the sheath and it's a RED wire...

That's the main power wire to the fuse box. Is that the only wire you have that goes to positive? I have a bunch, all added by me of course. :)
