Many have seen/know this car as the one that blew people away selling for $17,455 on eBay in 2012. Well it's on BaT now and it's even better. I felt it needed it's own thread.

I enjoyed nerding out the night this car was listed, reading all the comments from back in 2012 with people freaking out about it selling for over $17k. Went to bed with BIDDING OPEN. Woke up the next morning and the opening bid, $17,500!

Yep, I remember the earlier sale. Car is at $28.5K with about an hour to go. Doubt it will get to The Bronzit level, but it will be interesting to see.

I'd hope everyone's happy with $33.5K.
It took a while, but well preserved E28s are following in the footsteps of well preserved 2002s and e30 M3s.

That's an amazing result.
Does this mean I should stop driving my e28?

No. Prolly means you need to buy another one and make one of them a garage queen LOL. The Greenville car is super nice too but the painted kidneys don't do it for me. Small thing. Knock $7K off the price.
Seriously though it does give me more incentive to totally rehab my leather and get a professional engine detail. There's fucking Cosmoline everywhere. It's really pretty ugly in there unfortunately and dirt that has attracted itself to the Cosmoline and been baked in nice and good. It's honestly the ugliest engine bay I've had in any of my 34 cars. Sigh.
I have to believe that Alpinweiss is the best paint in terms of longevity on these cars, probably because no clearcoat.
