I'm the third-generation owner of this car -- my grandfather was the original owner, then his son, and almost ten years ago it was passed down to me. However, I moved in with my SO and in practice we only ever use one car, so it's time for me to sell. And my grandfather and uncle have other BMWs to look after now.

Comes with essentially complete records, starting from the original 1986 receipt. I wasn't good about preserving records after about 2012, though. Since that time it's only had routine maintenance, some coolant hoses replaced, and the catalytic converter replaced. I could try to get records for those services from the shop if necessary.

I took the car to my mechanic (Myler Automotive, whom I trust) for what they call a 'Major Check' in anticipation of selling, and he said it's a good car that drives well, without any major internal problems he could find. However, it does have some issues:
-A/C does not blow cool air
-Instrument panel (mostly speedometer) is intermittent. It happened to be working for the major check, but I'd say it's off about half the time.
-The paint is peeling a bit around the sunroof, and there's a chip in the paint on the same roof panel about the diameter of an M&M. I've kept the car parked in my carport so water doesn't exacerbate the issue.
-There's a small hole (again, about M&M-sized) rusted out below the spare tire well.
-Driver's side door lock broken -- to lock/unlock the car from the outside, one must use the front passenger doorlock or the lock on the trunk.
-The sensor panel in the cabin is unreliable. Tried replacing a sensor (coolant, I think) once but it didn't work.
-Dash and front seats are cracking. Back bench seat is better.
-The back left exterior door handle is broken.

Also, the windshield wipers are due to be replaced.

Other than that, I've always been happy with the car. Just never gets driven now.
