Ok, now it's February, but these calendars still have plenty of pages left, and we have a number of calendars left. $10 each, shipping included to addresses in the US and Europe. Get them while they last!

Well, it's November already, and I'm a bit behind schedule on getting started, but I think it can be pulled off without much trouble. I have help this year (thanks, unt0uchable!) so I'm relatively confident that we can get things assembled, ordered, and shipped in time to wrap one up to put under the Christmas tree. I'm sure your wives and/or girlfriends will be thrilled!

Image

The 2016 calendar will be similar to the 2015 calendar in construction; printed on thick paper featuring a full color image of one of everybody's favorite classic automobile for you to enjoy each month, plus a handful of holidays and other occasions that should be on everybody's calendar. And just as has been done in the past, the cars featured each month will be from photos you all submit... photos of your cars or the systems/subsystems thereof, or photos from your events. Once we reach the deadline (November 15) my distinguished panel of judges will pick the best of the best, unt0uchable and I will finish things up, then send the files off to the printer. If things go as planned, we should start sending calendars out by the first or second week of December!

Here are the details:

PHOTOGRAPHY REQUIREMENTS
  • All automobiles featured in the calendar will be e28s, so limit your submissions to photos of e28s, parts thereof, or group shots that contain e28s. Anything E28 related. Engines, headers, turbos, interiors, windshield washers, etc...
  • The subject cars don't have to be pretty, but that certainly helps. I’d like to have some interesting angles and such, but don't get too crazy and for goodness’ sake don't hurt yourself getting the shot. ;)
  • Please submit images as large as you are able; bigger (as in more pixels) really is better (see * below for guidelines.)
  • Landscape only. I can edit & resize the images, but don't make my job more difficult by turning your camera sideways.
  • Avoid editing any photos in Photoshop.
  • If you did not take the photo yourself, do not submit it without the information from the photographer who did, or proof that you own the rights to the photos. We don't need no improper attribution or copyright infringement here.
  • Try to limit your submissions to 2-3 photos per car, please; don't want tax the abilities of my judges to much!
  • Include your full name, the subject car's model and model year, and the photographer's full name in the email.
  • If you submit a photo that finds its way into the calendar, you get a free calendar!
  • If you know someone who has drool-worthy cars that should be included, but don't often visit the site, by all means, let them know what we're looking for!
SUBMISSIONS
Please send high resolution photographs to david.g.thornton at gmail.com with "E28 Calendar Submission _yourNAME_" in the title of the message.

PREPAYMENT
We'll use the same pricing structure as we did last year; preordered calendars are $12, and the price goes up $16 once I send files to the printer. Postage to US states & territories is included. Since I'm currently living in Deutschland, I'll be mailing calendars out from here as well. I haven't figured out the costs just yet, but will do what I can to make the same deal for European customers; I'll update this thread when I have more info.

PAYMENT
We have a new ordering & payment option this year; unt0uchable has graciously allowed the calendar to be sold through his website, http://www.enthusiastdesigned.com . Just click this link to jump to the page for the calendar, and follow the instructions there.

Payments will also be accepted by Square or PayPal; my address for either of them is david.g.thornton at gmail.com.

If you have any questions, please post them in this thread or PM me. I learned a few things in the first two rodeos, but I'm always learning, so thanks for your patience in all of it. And as always, if you have suggestions on how I could do things better, please let me know.

* To fill an 11" x 8 1/2" calendar page, the photo should be at least 3375 pixels wide x 2625 pixels high. More pixels is better; I can just resample it to fit. Less, but within a few hundred pixels is ok; resampling up can be done without much harm, but pushing the resampling too far in the wrong direction is A Bad Thing™. If you've got a wide format photo that will work, I can do some magic to expand the top and bottom regions to make it fit. If you have any questions about all of that, just ask.

Can I assume it would be a logistical nightmare to do a run without all the 'bonus' holidays? I wanted to put one in my cube at work but all the booze references violate our official Policy & Procedures ( i know, i know  ).
Actually, now that I think about it, I would prefer a plain jane version for the workshop too. :?

Are these the different car meet events throughout the year?

Count me in for at least one, my first one ever. I've been missing out. Love this forum! Great idea guys, I really look forward to it!

I was just wondering yesterday if you were going to produce the calendars again this year?

Will they be in English and auf Deutsch?

btw… get some of those students to help you with the Christmas priority box exchange for this year!

How about I send a Sharpie along with your order and you can selectively edit by blacking out certain verbiage? ;)

Bumpity. If we're going to make this happen, I need some more photos; so far I have pics from three individuals. I know for a fact that there are a few more of you who have taken photos of your e28s and could submit them... Don't be shy. Show them off. Please. If you have some that don't necessarily meet the pixel requirements, send them anyway; we might be able to work with them. Doesn't hurt to try!

Pre-orders would be nice too. Not necessary, but nice. And thanks to Mr. unt0uchable, we have another pre-order option available; just click this link to find the preorder page: http://www.enthusiastdesigned.com/2016_ ... 22496.aspx

Thanks!

Confession time; this new job is kicking my butt, and I don't have the calendar done yet. I should finish it up in the next couple of days and get things to the printer, but with shipping and whatnot, they won't likely be available to go under the Christmas tree. I'll keep you all posted.

FWIW, I got some fantastic photo submissions this year; it was harder than ever to pick the cover girls! I think we've got some winners though. Pretty sure you'll all like it.

Well, here it is, January 1, 2016, and THE CALENDARS ARE FINALLY READY!!! Better (a little) late than never, I guess.

I want to thank everyone who pre-ordered calendars. My stateside cohort, unt0uchable, has the freshly printed calendars in his possession (they look TOTALLY AWESOME!) and will be mailing the pre-ordered calendars out ASAP. He will also be handling all of the subsequent orders going to North American addresses; I'll be handling the European orders, and we'll do rock-paper-scissors to figure out who handles the African & Australian orders. ;)

For those of you who haven't ordered yet, unt0uchable has set up a new ordering & payment option this year on his website, http://www.enthusiastdesigned.com . Just click this link to jump to the page for the calendar, and follow the instructions there. The magic of the interwebs and the skilled hands of his shipping staff ( :D ) will do the rest.

Thanks!

The ecommerce system in use is stooopid and broken.

Regardless of how I enter my address I get this:

I've tried 6-7 times.

I have the sad.

I sent my money to Dave's PayPal account because it really annoys me when a site makes you enter all your personal info even though you're paying with PayPal.
