I am selling my beloved turbo e28, mainly because I can't find someone to smog it, and don't want to deal with it anymore.

This is a 1988 535i 5-speed with about 220,000 miles. Around 200,000 miles, I put a turbo on it, refreshed the suspension, and this has been my daily driver since my reg expired 2 months ago. Since then it has been sitting waiting for a willing, or an out-of-state buyer. The car runs great, is rough around the edges cosmetically, and has been super reliable. And FAST.

Engine mods: folks on the e28 board estimate the HP of this motor to be in the 325-350 hp range with 10 psi of boost.

TCD turbo kit, currently rated at 10psi.
Intercooler kit, water to air
Free flowing 3" exhaust, no cats
Meth/Water injection
Boost gooahj and Air/Fuel Ratio gooahj to monitor the turbo/motor
M5 clutch and pressure plate

Suspension:

Lowered with H&R Springs
Bilstein Sports shocks and struts
Front strut tower brace (have rear, never been installed)
New tie rods/pitman arm/Strut mounts
New Style 39 BMW/BBS rims

Other goodies

535IS front air dam, though with damage
Front and Rear bumpers "tucked"
Good stereo with amp and subwoofer
Glass Moon roof modification (very unique)

Rough spots:

Rips in seats, one rip in headliner
Rough paint, though has a nice rat look to it
Cracks in front air dam


This car comes with a lot of extra parts, such as all the parts to return it to non-turbo status. Serious inquiries only. Test drive only with cash in hand. Sold As-Is, this car won't pass smog in its current state.

I've been pretty lax about selling it for the last couple months, so if someone wants to do a deposit situation, I'd be happy to entertain it. I'm not in a hurry to sell if its going to a loving home.

Car is......SOLD! I think you'll probably be hearing from the guy who bought it, I impressed upon him the importance of getting on this forum to learn about the car and work out any issues that may come up.
